Horn (E.B.) & Company is established.

Founded by Edwin Horn, it is located initially at 14 Hanover Street. The jeweler moves to other locations on Hanover Street and then to its current location at 429 Washington Street in 1878. It currently owned by brothers Michael, Richard and Philip Finn.
